Author’s bio:

Yang is a homebody who loves animals. He walks fast but draws slow. He was previously a senior art designer in a video game production company. Currently he focuses on personal comics creations and starts documenting because of Slowork Publishing. His first documentary comics is Factory, recalling his mother’s labour life; his second work Winter Signal R.C.A. was included in Frontline Z.A.

Book description:

One day, the factory was closed but the workers stayed. The author’s mother worked for a doll factory in the 1970s. When she was near retirement, the factory was about to relocate to China out of the blue. She lost not only her job but also her retirement pension overnight. With the author’s skillful and delicate painting style, he creates magical scenes of a penguin world and depicts ordinary life of small fry at a great age. Without any dialogue, the author accurately illustrates the spirit of an era.
