‘Handbuilt Doppelgänger’ is a zine which combines the twomedias, ceramics and comics. It tells the story of the protagonist who tries tosort out and embody his own shortcomings by fabricating a pottery person. Heobserves his own body movements, and injects his soul into the pottery person.It becomes the carrier of shortcomings, and then tries to re-examine itselfthrough the pottery person from the third-party perspective.

Author’s bio:

Chow Siumou graduated with a Bachelor in Fine Art (Major in ceramics)co-organised by HKAS and RMIT. Her art career then focused on making andpromoting indie comic zine in Hong Kong by founding YunHyun. Her styles inceramics and manga interfere in both ways, her manga always show quietness,while her ceramics comes with narrative elements. She is recently studying theconnection between Guangcai and comics since 2020.
