This book is the end-result of Research Project of Old Master Q jointly carried out by the Hong Kong Arts Centre and OMQ ZMedia Ltd, Taipei in 2003. As a long-running comic series with numerous animation and movie adaptations, Old Master Q is a fondly remembered icon that endures over time. While providing us with a glimpse of the old times, it also reflects the present society, bringing us laughter and joy through its humourous stories. In this book, scholars from the Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan discuss the artistic achievements of Old Master Q from different perspectives, as well as its influences on Hong Kong culture. It also features comic creations produced by other artists, through which they express their views on and reinterpret Old Master Q, as a tribute to the author, Wang Ze, and this classic series.
