As the six artists observe the peculiarities of the mundane, the comic grids form together under their pens. Emotions and ideas traveling between the panels. They explore the endless possibilities of comics through unique storytelling and experimental graphics.

Authors’ bio:

Pak-huen LI graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts in Hong Kong Baptist University. She mainly focuses on illustration, comic, printmaking, book, magazine production and acrylic painting. Her inspirations mostly come from real-life situations and observations from daily life. She hopes to express emotions and construct imaginations for life through art making.

LONELY KIDNEY is a visual artist who explores the uncharted world through graphic design, illustration and painting. Her artwork presents a surrealistic imagination, drawing inspiration from personal experiences, emotions, and everyday occurrences. Lonely Kidney’s practice often challenges traditional norms and pushes the boundaries of what is considered beautiful. She combines discordant and imperfect elements, creating a harmonious chaos.

Chiu-yi LEUNG is an artist focusing on comics and oil paintings. Every stroke and panel is a process of depicting her feelings. She believes that every line carries emotional weight and these creations are the markings and proof that she once existed in the world. She created a series of artwork on memories. Her inspiration also comes from society, history, and daily life.

Evelyn BIH uses illustrations and comics to express her depression and strange thoughts in daily life. Evelyn always presentes her ideas through the lust of flesh, disturbance in life, and the mysterious features in biology.

Sum-kiu CHAN is an illustrator graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts in Hong Kong Baptist University. Sum Kiu specializes in digital illustrations and she is passionate about visual storytelling. Inspired by her observations of the world and everyday life, she uses fictional characters and stories to embody truthful emotions and experiences.

Sin-yu HO is a native visual artist who loves drawing since childhood. After visiting an exhibition by chance, he stepped into the world of illustration and comics. Sanyu mostly gets inspired by daily observation and social issues. When art seems to be useless to deal with trouble, he discovers its great use of uselessness. He hopes to put a smile on people’s faces through his creations.
